This park is located at Formello in Via della Selvotta, 25, really close to Rome (about 15 km) and aims at informing people, in general, about the flora and fauna of the ecosystem of Central Italy and in particular about that of the Parco di Veio which it is part of.

The park occupies an area of 10 hectares of woods mainly comprising varied oaks and is divided into two distinct zones. An internal one where you may not only observe different species of raptor, such as the Peregrine falcon and the Italian Lanner falcon, considered almost extinct species of the Italian fauna, but also deer, hares, donkeys, goats and some domestic animals.

An external zone where you may penetrate into the woods along a footpath and admire the nearly unknown life of the underwood creatures like the temporaria frog, the porcupine, the fox, the beech-martin, the weasel and many more. This is nature’s location where the visitor is directly involved and may some into close contact with animals and plants in their natural habitat and learn to love and respect them by observing their behaviour.

You may watch the flight of falcons and owls, feed them, observe the hatching of their eggs, generally in the month of March, follow their growth and if you wish their training too.

All these features make this park different from all the others. It is sufficient infact to know that many species of diurnal and nocturnal raptors, like the Eagle-owl and the Snow owl, are bred here too.All visits to the park are guided so the visitor is accompanied throughout his visit.Young children can avail of a playground and there are well-equipped picnic sites too.
